For individuals

When everything’s in flux, get a clear path forward

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

When you’ve been carrying too much for too long, change has a way of exposing what’s no longer sustainable.

The Change Strategy process gives you a clear path and the support you need to make smart, self-directed decisions about what’s next.

The Change Strategy Process

This process was shaped over eight years of working closely with accomplished women—lawyers, doctors, designers, engineers, tech leaders, and professionals across many fields—who found themselves at major crossroads.

Divorce. A serious illness. A layoff or a promotion that costs too much. A new relationship later in life. A windfall that changed the stakes. Being passed over after years of loyalty.

They didn’t need generic advice. They needed a way to think clearly, make real decisions, and move forward without abandoning themselves.

Change Strategy is that process.

It helps you tap both your analytical mind and intuitive sense of direction—and build the self-knowledge and skills to navigate change in a way that actually fits your life.

It unfolds in three distinct phases:

  • Anchor Yourself

Settle your nervous system. Take a full 360° view of your life. Create enough space—mentally and emotionally—to think clearly and act on what matters.

  • Wander Purposefully

Reconnect with your throughline—the deeper thread that’s guided you all along. Explore real options instead of reacting. Build a support system that matches who you are now.

  • Claim Your Path

Make strong, considered decisions. Take strategic action. Rebuild your life in a way that protects your energy, your priorities, and your long-term well-being.

This isn’t surface-level work. It’s a practical, reflective process that helps you move forward without leaving any part of yourself behind.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes—it’s a full 60-minute conversation with no pressure or commitment.

We’ll meet over Zoom, get to know each other, and talk through what’s happening in your life right now. The goal is simple: to see whether this kind of support feels like a good fit for you. Feel free to bring your coffee or tea and come as you are.

  • Change takes time—but it doesn’t have to take forever.

We have one stand-alone session to start the process. Thereafter, my one-on-one consulting is offered in 3-month cycles. We meet six times (90 minutes each), with email or phone check-ins in between when needed.

Three months is often enough to move through a meaningful arc of change—especially with focused support.

  • How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions or managing emotional distress.

Working with me is different. It’s about helping you realign your life with what matters—your values, your energy, your own definition of a meaningful life.

We’ll use tools like inquiry, mindfulness, and self-compassion to make sense of where you are and what comes next. This kind of work can be done on its own, or alongside therapy.

  • Ask yourself:

    • Am I open to making meaningful changes in how I live and work?

    • Am I ready to prioritize my well-being and goals for a life that feels more aligned?

    • Am I willing to set bold, attainable goals and stay accountable to them?

    • Am I eager to release what’s holding me back and build momentum toward what’s next?

    • Would collaboration and clarity help me get unstuck and regain my energy?

If you answered “yes” to most of these, this work will meet you where you are and offer you a process for choosing how you will create this next phase of your life.

  • I have deep respect for life coaches; many do meaningful work. But my role is different.

While I have a certification in mindfulness and life balance tools, I’m not here to cheerlead or push you to evolve. To me, you have everything you need to move ahead. I’m here as a thinking partner and strategist—someone who brings decades of experience to the questions you’re confronting.

I offer a structured process, objective perspective, and hard-won insight to help you make decisions that are truly your own—especially when the stakes are high and the path isn’t clear.

  • You’ll receive thoughtful, structured support to help you navigate a demanding time without losing sight of your values, health, or future.

Our work together is designed to support both immediate clarity and long-term growth. We will:

    • Clarify what needs your attention most urgently and how to begin.

    • Identify imbalances in your daily life and apply a clear strategy to restore alignment.

    • Turn vague ideas into actionable, measurable goals you can actually reach.

    • Strengthen your personal well-being—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

    • Make sound decisions that honor both your personal and professional priorities.

    • Reconnect with your strengths, gifts, and creative energy.

    • Build confidence in your ability to adapt, lead, and thrive.

    • Gently uncover and release beliefs that no longer serve you.

    • Reduce chronic stressors and restore your capacity to respond with clarity and intention.

  • Sarah brings a rare blend of expertise to her work from her decades of experience as both a healthcare attorney and a critical care nurse. She’s not offering advice from the sidelines. She’s led in high-stakes, high-responsibility environments where clarity, compassion, and sound judgment matter.

Additionally, as a Certified Change Strategist with the Life Balance Institute, Sarah offers more than just reflection. Included in her three stage process are several novel strategies:

    • A mindfulness tool to map client’s interior world that is used to anticipate and avoid rumination “sinkholes”

    • A novel decision-making process to outwit the 10 most prevalent human thinking errors

    • A method to restructure a life to prevent the types of burnout and exhaustion suffered in the past

    • Health and wellness tactics to calm the nervous system

  • In three months, you can move through a significant arc of your change. Typically, we’ll meet twice a month for 90 minutes.

More questions?

  • Your work reflects who you are. And when your identity shifts, your career often needs to shift too. Some people want greater impact or purpose. Others need more freedom, less pressure, or time for what’s been neglected.

Whatever the reason, the deeper goal is the same: to do work that fits who you are now and supports who you're becoming.

Change Strategy offers a structured, three-stage process to help you clarify what matters most and map a path that supports both your ambition and your well-being.

    Clients often ask:

    • What’s next now that I’ve hit a major milestone?

    • Should I take this promotion—or walk away?

    • How do I grow without burning out?

    • I’m early in my career and feel lost. Where do I begin?

    • If I’m retiring, how do I make this next chapter meaningful?

We start by clarifying your values, patterns, and inner drivers. You’ll surface untapped strengths, update old stories, and discover options that may not be visible from where you stand today. Then we build a plan—realistic, purpose-driven, and designed to last.

This isn’t just about what’s next. It’s about what’s right for you, now and going forward.

  • Few experiences upend our sense of control and identity more profoundly than illness or loss. Whether you're navigating chronic pain, a life-altering diagnosis, the limitations of aging, or the death of someone you love, the ground beneath you can shift in ways that are disorienting and deeply painful.

Clients come to this work carrying questions that are both intensely personal and existential in nature:

    • How do I grieve and move forward after the loss of someone central to my life?

    • How do I stay emotionally connected to my partner when illness has changed what’s possible between us?

    • Should I pursue aggressive medical treatment—or make peace with a different path?

    • How do I honor my body’s limitations while still contributing in ways that feel meaningful?

    • If I’m facing the end of my life, how can I help my family prepare—practically and emotionally?

    • How do I plan for future care if I’m aging or ill and don’t have family nearby?

    • What can I do when I feel unseen—or even harmed—by the medical system?

In our work together, we’ll create space for the fear, disorientation, and grief that often accompany these moments—without letting them define you. One of the most important outcomes of the Change Strategy process is how it will help you name what’s hard, clarify what matters most, and identify where you still have agency. We’ll use these insights to help you discern how to live this next phase with peace, dignity, and meaning.

  • Sometimes, the most difficult part of navigating personal change isn’t the change itself—but how it ripples through the most important relationships in your life. A divorce, a partner’s resistance to growth, the shifting needs of aging parents or children—all of these can require you to reimagine your home, your daily routines, your social world, and even how you mark life’s milestones.

Here are some of the questions my clients often bring to this work:

    • How do I make a major life decision that will significantly affect my partner or my children?

    • As I grow, how do I reckon with the lack of intimacy—emotional, spiritual, sexual, or intellectual—in a relationship that isn’t growing with me?

    • How do I steady myself when I can no longer filter my daily decisions through the lens of my partnership?

    • Should I move closer to aging parents—and how do I weigh that choice alongside my own needs?

    • If I leave this relationship, how can I make sure I don’t repeat old patterns?

Using the Change Strategy process, we’ll unpack the real questions beneath the surface as you move through the three stages of this transition. You’ll develop deeper insight into what’s yours to carry—and what isn’t. We’ll isolate the essential issues, expand the options in front of you, and shape a path forward that honors both your relationships and your integrity. Whether you’re redefining boundaries, reimagining partnership, or reshaping family life, you’ll do so with clarity, compassion, and the self-trust to lead your life forward.

  • Where we live shapes nearly every aspect of our well-being. The decision to relocate, whether for personal, professional, or family reasons, touches more than just geography. It stirs questions of identity, belonging, partnership, and stability.

You may be moving away from people you cherish, or closer to family members with whom relationships are strained. Your partner may feel resistant. You might be leaving behind a support system, navigating new school systems, or managing culture shock in unfamiliar surroundings. Even when a move is for a promising opportunity, it can be disorienting, costly, and emotionally complex.

    Clients often bring questions like:

    • How do I know this move is the right choice—financially, emotionally, and practically?

    • What does it look like to grieve what I’m leaving, while still embracing what’s ahead?

    • How can I support my partner, children, or close friends while holding space for my own needs?

    • How do I find grounding in a new city and rebuild a community from scratch?

    • What strategies will set me up for success in a new role or work culture?

    • How do I monitor my own energy and capacity to ensure this transition is sustainable?

Together, we’ll take a comprehensive look at your goals, values, and current life demands. When you enroll in Change Strategy work, you’ll build a clear, forward-facing plan for the coming months—one that accounts for both logistics and emotional impact. As you move through the transition, we’ll strengthen your internal resources, deepen your self-awareness, and ensure you’re not just relocating—you’re landing well. With clarity, intention, and support, you’ll create a new chapter that feels both grounded and genuinely yours.

  • The Change Strategy process is a versatile and deeply personal framework that can be applied to a wide range of life transitions and challenges. At its core, this work asks for a commitment to self-discovery, a willingness to reevaluate what’s no longer serving you, and the courage to imagine a life of meaning—one where your contributions extend beyond personal gain.

Clients often come to me with questions like:

    • How do I build friendships when my professional demands leave little space for connection?

    • How can I make sure daily life is sustainable if I take on a major new leadership role?

    • How do I rethink retirement—not just as an ending, but as a new source of income and purpose?

    • How do I return to work with confidence after chemotherapy has temporarily altered my energy and capacities?

    • How do I heal my body image and open myself to dating again after my divorce?

    • What does it mean to make peace with a life that didn’t unfold exactly as planned—and still find joy and pride in where I’ve landed?

    • How do I move through the hurt and humiliation of being laid off so that I don’t carry those wounds into my next opportunity?

    • How should I change my life now that I got a large inheritance?

In every case, the work is the same at its heart: we clarify what matters most, create new possibilities, and chart a way forward that’s both purposeful and sustainable.
